Eat well and
feel good
It is no longer a secret that focusing on plants and making them the star of your meals is good for you, good for our planet, and good for the animals – also wild animals!
However, changing the way you approach food can be daunting and that’s exactly what I want to help you with. It doesn’t have to be scary to try new foods and hopefully I can make it easier for you to feel comfortable and well-nourished.
Because really, that’s what matters.
You can
protect the planet with
the food you eat!
It sounds wild, doesn’t it? But really, it can be that simple. By choosing to cook your meals with plants, you can help to protect our planet. The impact you can make with this can be immense. And it doesn’t mean you can’t have delicious food, far from it! Plants are tasty, and I want to prove that to you.
How does plant-based food protect the planet?
You may have heard statistics about how much water is used to produce a steak or how the Amazon is being deforested to grow soy (to be used for animal feed). The simple fact is that it is much more effective in terms of cost, land usage and water usage to produce the same amount of plant-based food than it is to produce animal-based food. The amount of water used to produce a single burger could be used to shower consecutively for several weeks. If plant-based eating became the norm, we could produce the same amount of food on only about 30-40% of the land needed today. The rest could be returned to nature or it could be used to grow enough food for all human beings. A large percentage (estimates range from 40-80%) of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (an accumulation of plastic waste) consists of discarded fishing materials. By choosing to focus on plant-based food, you can help to reduce the amount of plastic waste discarded in the oceans in the future.
The positive effect of eating more plants, or exclusively plants, affect so many of our current issues. I want to help you learn how to sustain yourself in a healthy and satisfying manner, so that you, too, can make this important and and effective change in your diet.
And what’s good for the planet is good for you, too!
